MIRA B. WEISS, Esq. trained as a litigator and branched out into the specialized practice of health law, health insurance, compliance and hospital administration. Capitalizing on her vast experience, she now concentrates her practice in Elder Law (“Law of the Aging”), Special Needs, Estates and Trust and Guardianship.
Mira Weiss is founder of the Weiss Law Group, PLLC, a boutique firm providing comprehensive services in Elder Law, Special Needs and Guardianship. She continues to consult on physician and institutional/patient disputes, and on health law and insurance matters.
Mira is a member of the bar in New York and the District of Columbia. She received a B.A. in Communications from Temple University and a J.D. from the George Washington University National Law Center. She has worked in the public and private health sector in the United States and in Asia; consulting for the National Institute of Health 9-11 First Responders Health Care Task Force, and internationally known medical institutions, governments and charitable organizations.
She is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Small Law Firm Committee of the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA). Recently, she accepted an appointment to the NYCBA Legal Problems of the Aging Committee. She is a member of the NY State Bar Association Elder Law Section, and the American Health Lawyer’s Association.
Mira has an active pro-bono presence supporting the New York Legal Assistance Group and is a member of the Orion Resources Group. She writes and speaks frequently on Problems of the Aging, Advanced Directives and Legal Practice Management.
